You really do have to leave it on for five minutes for it to work properly. I tried leaving it on for a few minutes and it doesn’t work as well as when I gave it the full five minutes.

They say to leave it on for 5 mins, but I left it for almost 10 to make sure I got the most out of the product. It definitely works, I’d say it’s a 50/50 mix of moisture and protein. My hair feels soft and moisturized but has more body and structure too.
